Beauty works from inside out. We have to make our inside as healthy as possible for our hair, skin, nails and our exterior to be beautiful. Sometimes we get brittle hair or nails. Well there is a reason for it, especially women and it's our hormones.
Our hormones determine so much of our health. We can control how our body reacts to the hormone reactions we get. When our skin, hair, and nails feel dry, brittle, or get that feeling of "old" we need start from inside.
One way to regulate our hormones is through "detoxing" the liver. I dislike the term detox, but the liver is the organ where everything get filtered. So we need to flush it out sometimes. I prefer to recommend certain foods and recipes to prepare and not the mainstream detoxes you see out there, you have to be careful with those. Blueberries provide so many wonderful qualities like: antioxidants, magnesium, vitamin K which work together to detoxify your liver. Which then means hormone regulation. When our hormones are regulated they won't go haywire on you effect your hair, skin, and nails.
With the addition of greens, banana, and nut milk we work on a cellular level to enhance the process of cell regeneration. Basically this means when we eat and drink foods rich certain vitamins and minerals, like calcium and magnesium we are able to produce healthier cells. When our cells are healthy we are healthy and therefor look and feel better.
Yields 2 servings
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup leafy dark greens
1 1/2 cups almond milk- I used New Bard Unsweetened Almond Milk
2 tablespoons Roasted Unsalted Almond Butter
2 frozen bananas
Chia Seeds, Chopped Almonds, Walnuts
Dragon Fruit, Blueberries, Strawberries, Blackberries
1. Place all the ingredients in a high power blender.
2. Slowly turn the speed up and blend until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more almond milk, ice or water.
3. Garnish as you'd like and enjoy!
