Healthy Breakfast Makes for a Healthy Day!

When you start your day off with a good balanced and nutrient rich breakfast you actually do more good for you body than you think. Yes for a bit of time the popular nutrition information said eggs are bad for you because they raise your cholesterol. Well that isn't true! We have different kinds of cholesterol in our bodies, and our bodies makes cholesterol as well. I can confidently say that if you are putting blame on the eggs in your diet due to your high cholesterol level you probably are eating other foods like processed, fast, and highly greasy and unhealthy fat foods. 

Eggs for breakfast can actually help you to eat less. Almost 400 calories less of food. If you are loosing weight or want to maintain your weight, eggs for breakfast are a great choice. The reason this occurs is because eggs are one of those foods that our bodies knows how to extract all of its marvelous nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Basically we can digest is really well. One recommendation to enhance the nutrition of eggs is to either cook it with olive oil or drizzle olive oil over the cook eggs. The reason being is that the healthy unsaturated fats in the olive oil help to feed the gut bacteria. When we feed our gut bacteria with good quality nutrients our body works more efficiently to extract this nutrients. Which then means our body is working at its optimal. Therefore if you are loosing weight your body will be more likely to reduce weight more quickly. 

When we start off our day with a nutrient dense and deliciously balanced meal basically we are less likely to crave salty, sweet, or fatty foods. Like packaged chips, fast foods, or ice cream. So start your day with a scramble egg recipe like this one and seasonal fruit and you will be on the right foot to make the rest of your day more healthy. 

Yields 2 servings 


4 eggs 

2 tablespoons milk 

1/2 teaspoons sea salt 

1/4-1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil 

Fruit of your choice 


1. Over medium low heat add the olive oil in a saute pan. 

2. Crack the eggs and place in a bowl with the salt, pepper and milk. Whisk until lightly frothy. 

3. One of the best ways to prepare scrambled eggs is over low heat. Add the eggs to the saute pan. 

4. With a spatula move the eggs around. Make sure to not let the eggs cook too much in one spot. You want to constantly be moving and scrambling the eggs. 

5. Once the eggs are prepared to your liking, serve and enjoy!
